How to Remove Ticks and Fleas from Dogs and Cats at Home

Ticks and fleas are common issues faced by pet owners. They can cause itching, skin irritation, hair fall, and discomfort for your pets. If not treated early, they may lead to infections and long-term skin problems.

These pests usually hide in warm areas such as behind the ears, under the neck, around the tail, and under the legs.

The first step is to inspect your pet’s coat regularly. Check the fur carefully at least two to three times a week.

Use a fine comb to remove visible fleas and dirt particles from the coat.

Apply a pet-safe tick control oil or solution to help remove ticks and soothe the skin.

Follow this with a gentle bath using a mild pet shampoo to clean the fur and remove any remaining residue.

It is equally important to clean your pet’s bedding, carpet, and corners of the room because ticks may survive in the environment.

Regular grooming and weekly cleaning can help prevent ticks from returning.
